Peapod has recently announced the signing of a UK distribution agreement for the Consus
mail gateway. Consus is manufactured by Viasec, a manufacturer of Internet security
products. This solution will bring simple to install, and easy to maintain email
encryption to UK businesses and organisations. Deploying Consus means that all email
communication delivered through the Internet can be safely encrypted and digitally signed
through a self-contained certification authority. This takes the need to share
certificates out of the hands of the user, making encryption simpler, quicker and more
transparent. It also gets rid of the need for end-user training, desktop installation and
means lower cost of ownership.
