NEWSFirms establish e-business security standards (08.03.00)

Internet Security Systems (ISS), Marsh and Protegrity are working to establish new security assessment standards for e-business. The new standards – designed to protect critical information of firms using the internet – will have implications for businesses seeking to purchase insurance to cover e-business exposures. Firms meeting the standards may qualify for reductions of up to 15% in e-business liability insurance premiums under Net Secure – an insurance programme developed by Marsh. ISS and Protegrity will work with Marsh to protect knowledge capital and networks against non physical perils by providing the following services and benefits: assessing and controlling security breaches to protect critical information assets; reducing exposure to litigation and damages; and addressing critical network continuity issues.
