NEWS - Microsoft applies pressure to current MCSEs (17.03.00)

.

Microsoft has been accused of trying to pressure MCSEs into taking Windows 2000 examination 70-240 before they are ready, willing or indeed able. Microsoft has been applying this pressure because many of its potential customers are not prepared to take the plunge and adopt Windows 2000 too soon. The software giants believe that if those with NT4.0 accreditation upgrade themselves to Windows 2000, they’ll pressurise companies to roll-out Win2K earlier. Microsoft has made examination 70-240 free, but candidates are only allowed one attempt. One failure means that not only do you need to retake all four examinations but you also need to pay for them. Because of these stringent rules candidates are more likely to thoroughly prepare for the examinations therefore passing them and then finding a job where Windows 2000 skills are required.
