High street retailers W H Smith has had its group IT Server infrastructure completely
replaced by Intergraph Technology Services (ITS). The work covered the company’s
Swindon headquarters and also its London offices. The
£250,000 contract included upgrading a Novell operating system to Windows NT, upgrading
300 PCs with new operating systems, and the implementation of a high security wall. ITS
also installed Microsoft Exchange and standardised on a 32-bit operating system that
incorporates the implementation of Office 97 and Outlook 98.
