Planet Online has announced that Windows 2000 will form an integral part of its Internet
hosting and news ASP services. Through Planet’s hosting facility, one of the largest
in Europe, customers will be able to migrate to the latest Microsoft Server and Desktop
applications. Planet also plans to offer application service provision of Office 2000 and
Exchange 5.5 later this year, and is working with Microsoft and Compaq to provide an
Exchange 2000 based service.
Endorsing its support for the new OS, Planet is also deploying Windows 2000 internally.
Planet’s website (www.theplanet.net) will
also be migrated to Windows 2000 in line with the company’s migration of its MIS
systems to the new platform.
